Job Description
SETS North Africa is seeking a creative, highly talented Web Developer to build and maintain websites and web applications. The successful candidate is expected to focus on the underlying software and databases ‘back end’, with some web developers work on the interface and visual design ‘front end’, and preferably combine both (‘full-stack development’). The position is available in the SETS Cairo office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Joining and contributing to a growing business in Data Services within the Urban Transport Technologies Unit
- Writing code in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as PHP or JavaScript
- Designing the architecture of the components of an application
- Deciding on the best technologies and languages for the application
- Testing sites and applications in different browsers and environments
- Running performance benchmarking tests
- Researching, incorporating Open Source projects
- Gathering requirements from clients and users
- Learning and testing new technologies, frameworks and languages
- Documenting code so other developers can understand and contribute to it
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- Minimum of 3-5 years related or equivalent experience in the following fields: informatics, software engineering, web design and development, computer programming, digital media development, multimedia design, web content management, web development or web design.
- Relevant experience / courses / certifications on specific topics like developing web applications in PHP and MySQL.
- Good report writing and excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal (Arabic/English).
