Job Description
We are looking for a specialized Legal Secretary to undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. You will work under the supervision of an attorney and will also provide support in assigned legal cases.The goal is to sustain efficiency of all office procedures and case management so as to guarantee reliability and consistency.

Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the legal department under the supervision of the Legal Program Manager
- Assistance with the maintenance of legal files, both paper and electronic, including pleadings, discovery, correspondence, etc.
- Provide administrative support to one or more lawyers
- Write case briefs and synopses of depositions, contracts and testimony
- Conduct thorough statistical/ documentary research
- Source and verify important case intelligence
- Produce and file various legal documents such as appeals, motions or petitions
- Preserve an updated case record system
- Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders
- Directing and coordinating law-office operations
- Preparing and indexing legal documents, reports and other litigation materials using computer software
- Maintaining electronic databases and all electronic materials and documents related to law cases using relevant e-Discovery software
- Paralegal professionals lead rewarding careers in numerous settings:
- Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics; coordinating case preparation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as Legal Secretary
- Knowledge of constitution, legal terminology, regulations and court system
- Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, dictaphone etc)
- Working knowledge of litigation management software systems is a plus
- Outstanding time-management and typing skills
- Ability to multitask and being comfortable dealing with a diverse pool of people
- Legal Secretary certification or diploma
Prior legal assistant or comparable experience highly desired.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment, Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines, take initiative, maintain confidentiality, and possess strong organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision.
