Job Description
As an Android developer your day-to-day job would entail developing high quality financial applications for consumers and business. Our applications are expected to poses a one of a kind user experience, ironclad security, an always up attitude, and lighting fast performance.
Your primary focus will be development of Android applications and integration with back-end services. You will be working alongside other stakeholders working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential.
Key responsibilities & duties
- Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Maintain project, drafts, files, codes and scripts in an organized manner that allows other team members to make edits/suggestions/changes
- Continually learn about new programming languages, operating system updates, and other information that will affect the functions of applications in development
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
- Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals
- Passionate about great technologies, especially open source
Job Requirements
Academic or trade qualifications
- Academic degree in computer science (BSc) or relevant fields is a plus
- Formal training and certification in software engineering and relevant fields is a plus
Work experience and skills
- Academic degree in computer science (BSc) or relevant fields is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
- Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
- Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
