Job Description
- Should have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering.
- Have a minimum of 3 years experience in Structural design of concrete, steel and timber structures to BS standards, and minimum of 5 years experience within the construction industry.
- Be fluent in Structural Analysis software such as “Prokon” and “Microstran”, ETABS etc
- Production of cad drawings to cater for project specific requirements and the ability to prepare 3D modeling where required and frame modelling.
- Manage and control outputs and work within tight timelines / programmers and always manage control outputs especially with regard to project specific priorities.
- Have the ability to produce schedules (Reinforcement, footing, precast, etc) together with general arrangement and detailed shop and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD for the relevant suppliers/contractors.
- Be flexible in work ethics and be willing to change and perform other duties and responsibilities as may be required and requested by the team leader.
- Liaise with, and have the ability, to interpret other specialized disciplines, i.e. architectural / Engineering / MEP for compliance with the relevant codes and standards and translate these into design and other detailed drawings.
- Be conversant with Microsoft office documents and have the capability of recording, maintaining and issuing registers, both incoming and outgoing, together with other department specific relevant contractual documentation.
- Be confident and well conversant with the relevant international and British Standard codes and practices.
- Have the ability to assist with the compilation of Bills of Quantities, take offs, bar bending schedules and cutting lists.
- Be confident working within a team and able to work closely with a team leader and / or senior engineer.
- Have the ability to undertake pre engineering site surveys to ensure suitability of design in consultation with the team leader.
- Review and comments on supplier and sub-contractor drawings and structural calculations and models
- Design and prepare the structural drawings for all types of buildings and structures as required
- Promote the company image at all times.
Job Requirements

- Able to prepare documents and maintain documents as outlined above electronically and in hard formats
