Job Description:
- You will deliver high quality support for high-available, real-time systems used by Telecommunication Service Providers.
- You will act as a team player who will be responsible for solving complex technical problems.
- You will be also responsible for update/upgrade and monitoring activities.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a creative problem-solver with strong Linux/UNIX admin skills, and thorough knowledge in networking, clusters, volume managers and databases areas.
Your scope of responsibilities will cover:

Performing software upgrade tests and creating upgrade procedures
-
Performing upgrades on production servers
-
Performing monitoring of production servers
-
Solving problems reported via ticketing system
-
Analyzing issues and logs to understand various system problems,
-
Preventing further occurrences of a problem
-
Sharing knowledge with the team
-
Providing 24/7 on call support
-
Traveling to Customer premises if necessary
Job Requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
Must have:
-
Knowledge Linux and/or Unix on administrator level
-
Practical understanding of TCP/IP (OS, firewalls configuration)
-
Good communication in English (both written and spoken);
-
Basic DB administration (Oracle DB, MySQL, Postgres, Hadoop)
Nice to have:
-
Knowledge about telecommunication protocol standards especially SS7 and Diameter
-
HA solutions ( i.e. Sun Cluster, Veritas Cluster, RAC)
-
Backup and restore (i.e. Oracle RMAN, EMC Networker)
-
Fujitsu, Oracle and HP server hardware, EMC storages
-
Visualization SW (VMware, KVM, Vbox)
-
Cloud SW (vCloud, OpenStack)

Compensation: $15/hour ($30K/year)
Location: Global (remote)
40 hours/week
