Job Description
The interpreter/translator (Arabic-Japanese) will be responsible for the duties outlined below for "JICA Project for Enhancement of Technical Secondary Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt "*.
Translation and interpretation
- Providing Arabic-Japanese translation/interpretation.
Logistics
- Arranging hotel reservations for JICA experts;
- Responsible for all vehicle, hotel, and flight bookings of national staff and JICA experts on official missions;
- Arranging car(s) for national staff and JICA experts;
- Follow up and record passport and visa related issues of JICA experts.
Finance
- Arranging the purchase for stationery goods, ink cartridges for printers, and other equipment for the office;
- Arranging the purchase for mobile and the internet top-up for JICA experts and national staff;
- Collecting invoices, bills, and receipts (following the JICA requirements) for transactions made by the Project;
- Enters requisitions/purchase orders in the expense report(ER);
- Submit the expense report(ER) and receipts for a JICA financial staff in the end of every month;
- Responsible for the project cash which is saved in the safety box at the office.

The project is working for technical secondary education sector in Egypt since April 2017. The project will continue until January 2021.

The main project sites are in Cairo, Obour city and Port Said city.
Job Requirements
- Graduates only
- Native fluency in classic Arabic and Japanese
- Completion of university education
- Completion of education in Japanese language/translation/interpretation
- Some experience in Japanese and Arabic interpretation in education fields preferred
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 and above
- Advanced skills in the cultural dynamics (cultural implication and idiomatic expression) of both Classic Arabic and Japanese
- Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client
- Flexible with overnight stay in Port Said city
- Flexible with overtime work
