Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Finance Business Partner acts as a liaison between various business units and the finance department to support effective decision-making and business performance optimization. Their main purpose is to provide financial and analytical support, ensuring that all stakeholders have accurate insights into operational and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Analyze financial data, including revenue, operating costs, and profitability, to provide actionable insights.
- Prepare financial models and scenario analyses to support business decisions.
- Management Reporting:
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) such as volume, revenue, and costs.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results to senior management and HQ.
- Support the preparation of presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with operational teams to monitor financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Act as a financial advisor, providing recommendations based on data-driven insights to optimize business operations.
- Liaise between finance and non-finance departments to ensure alignment on strategic goals.
- Budget Control & Compliance:
- Monitor budget adherence and support departments in managing their financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.
- Assist in financial audits and address any compliance-related issues.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Track and analyze key metrics such as quay and gate volumes, revenue per move, and EBITDA, …etc.
- Identify variances and develop plans to address underperformance.
- Support cost control initiatives and provide financial input on capital expenditure projects.
- Process Improvement:
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
- Implement best practices in financial analysis, planning, and reporting.

This is an operational and hands-on position and requires a high level of independence, self-reliance, and the ability to quickly connect the dots to influence decision making. You will be exposed to senior stakeholders with varying interests, including shareholder representatives that look for an effective finance professional who can develop fit-for-purpose solutions. You will also represent SCCT when dealing with external parties e.g. IFC, GAFI, SCA, SCZ and many more
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in finance, preferably within the logistics, shipping, or terminal operations industry.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Excellent communication in English and presentation skills.
