Job Description
- Maintain current sales levels and develop increased sales income from existing customers in assigned territory.
- Develop increased sales income from new customers (i.e. new organizations or establishments and establishments supplied by competitors) in assigned territory.
- Promote all products carried by the company wholesale and retail operations.
- Identifying and exploring the possibility of new products from existing or new suppliers in order to meet customer requirements.
- Supporting the Customer through all aspects of product sales (i.e. inquiry, quotation, order, delivery, invoicing and collection of accounts due).
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive record recording all contacts, negotiations, inquiries, responses, orders, etc. between ILB and individual customers.
- Producing routine and specialized reports such as weekly and monthly summaries, collection summaries, regional briefings, etc.
- Representing the company at local, national and international promotional events, displays and exhibitions as required.
- Organizing assigned territories and work to meet targets set by the company. These targets shall include, but are not limited to, number of calls, actual sales income, payment collection efficiency, area growth, etc.
- Ensuring that customer requests for book fairs, exhibitions, etc., are passed to the Sales Manager and coordinated with the Display & Exhibitions Coordinator.
- Assessing performance of new and existing sales personnel by accompanying them on customer calls and obtaining direct feedback from customers.
- Undergoing on-the-job training in the following areas:
- Personal appearance
- Administrative tasks (record keeping, order processing, etc.)
- Product and Customer knowledge
- Participation in promotional displays and exhibitions.
- Ensuring that all company provided equipment, supplies, samples, stock, vehicles, documents, etc. are securely and appropriately maintained or accounted for in accordance with the Wholesale Procedures Manual.
