Job Description
- Lead and monitor the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety management system OHSAS 18001 with compliance plans for the quarries.
- Ensures, in accordance with the Corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSE Systems.
- Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives.
- Provides for motivation and familiarization of all Company personnel respecting the importance of complying with Company system procedures and all Safety equipment provided.
- Assists the Commercial, Maintenance and Operations Departments in their dealings with Clients in all issues concerned with Health and Safety at work.
- Assure a continuous flow of information concerning accidents, incidents, near misses, potential hazards, interference by governmental authorities, and activities at the quarries which contribute to safety consciousness and accident prevention.
- Provides technical support to Senior Management on any safety related subjects.
- Ensure that all Planned General Inspections are carried out timely and inspection results are reported to the relevant management.
- Carries out any in-house safety training and safety audits on Sub-contractors.
- Liaises between Clients on safety related issues.
- Perform daily waste storage area and housekeeping inspections.·
- Expected to monitor safety procedures, determine cause of unsafe condition through procedure review, inspection of work areas, machinery, equipment, worker welfare accommodation and working conditions for compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.·
- Preparation of Health and Safety documentation for new tenders. Provides Safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities.·
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
