Job Description
About the job:
- This is a unique work-from-home/work-from-beach/work-from-cafe job.
- It's technically challenging, yet very rewarding in terms of money, job location & work hours.
- We're a Dubai-based company, who is looking for a nomadic geek, who will be based out of Egypt. Yet, he/she might rarely be required to come to Dubai for a week or two to do a quick job or two.
- In the meantime, you can work from your bedroom, a co-working space, Dahab or just wherever you like. Just enjoy your life and get things done in time.
- We provide technology (software, hardware & media services) for events (brand activation, product launches, concerts... etc) which means that on one day you might be asked to get a Wordpress template website up and running then on the next day, you might need to build a quick C# (WPF) app or a 60-second puzzle on Unity followed by a Kinect hack for Raspberry Pi... nothing fixed... and nothing long-term.
Job Requirements
- We expect you to know how to build something that works using most of these technologies: C#, Python, Unity, TouchDesigner, vvvv, Unreal, ThreeJS, Phaser, Arduino, Xamarin, Ionic, Vuforia, Processing, Bash, NodeJS... among others.
- You don't need to be an expert of any of these. But you need to be an all-rounded hacker who knows a tiny bit of many things.
- Just like us, we expect you to like to mix Hardware & Software together, in order to build games & apps controlled by Kinect, Leapmotion, Gear VR, HoloLens & Custom-made Arduino circuits.
- You are not required to do the designer's job but you need to have a good eye for front-end UI patterns and should be capable of using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere/iMovie, Sketchup/Blender,... just so you don't get stuck at minor edits, if needed.
- Knowing about all the different Audio/Video connection technologies, their pros and cons would be highly appreciated. We're talking about HDMI, MHL, DP, DVI, RC...
- Great command of both English & Arabic. No mercy for any typos / spelling mistakes in English or Arabic.
