Job Summery:

A Water Sports Company Located in El-Gouna requires accountant

  • The Sr. Staff Accountant / Analyst is responsible for assisting the Widewaters VP of Finance, Director of Hotel Accounting, Staff Accountants and payroll accountant with duties such as tax reconciliation and reporting, systems integrity verifications, weekly reports, reconciliations, budgets, audits, auditing payrolls etc. Additionally, the Sr.
  • Staff Accountant’s / Analyst duties will also include managing and maintaining the weekly ledger balance verifications and overseeing accounts payable of specific properties.
  • The Sr. Staff Accountant / Analyst is required to adhere to the mission and values of Widewaters Hotels, LLC.

Job Description:

  • Analysis of PMS & POS verifications, deposit verifications, sales tax/occupancy tax verifications, sort mail if needed and credit card, income audit, approval submissions and month end reconciling
  • Manage, Analyze and Reconcile all General Ledger for each hotel Asset and Liability Account, Bank Reconciliations, and AR collections.
  • Assist in directing, reconciling annual tax workpapers preparation for all hotel entities.
  • Analyze and Reconcile all hotel Prepaid Accounts, FF&E accounts and Quarterly Payroll reports Develop Financial and hotel operating metric ratios, for method of calculation and comparisons, i.e. F&B metrics, Room's metrics, GOP Flow, EBITDA Margin ratios etc. and statistical activity reporting.
  • Oversight tax reconciliations and reporting of hotel revenues, use tax, and occupancy taxes
  • Restructure written hotel financial policies and procedures per Uniform System of Accounts for
  • Lodging Industry.
  • Audits and approve weekly 401k funding from payrolls, while maintaining accurate recordkeeping.
  • Hotel Specific Responsibilities:
  • Daily PMS verifications
  • Responsible for posting of corrective entries into ProfitVue for maintaining correct ledger balances
  • Oversees the tracking of ACH check postings from each property CLC, Expedia, Groupon, etc.
  • Analysis of accounts payable posting web batching verifications in ProfitSage, change when
  • necessary
  • Approve and Review specific hotel accounts payable and posting of vendor invoices in accounting
  • software
  • Responsible for posting journal entries into ProfitVue for assigned properties
  • Carries out the verification of credit cards processed by properties
  • Test appropriate data and prepares sales tax/occupancy tax verifications and approve calculations
  • Corresponds through reporting any variances or ProfitSage out of balances to Widewaters Hotels Dir. of Hotel Accounting
  • Audits of voids, paid-out, and adjustments. Ensures proper backup and documentation is on file.
  • Ensures the verification of bank depositing and the entry of bank deposit into financial systems
  • Reviews approves coding and submissions of accounts payable s
  • Reads all e-mails and responds within a reasonable time frame
  • Responsible for communication with general managers of multiple hotel properties regarding AP
  • Review and Performs the tax exempt audit and verification in PMS system

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in accounting and at least 2 years experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the Hospitality industry, have a strong financial background, and have sound administrative skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, team builder and creative.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have computer excellent skills with MS Office (excel, word, outlook).
  • Must have critical thinking attributes by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Must be able to work with multiple hotels financials.
  • Must have some knowledge of account payable, reconciling, reporting and or accounting software experience.
