Job Description

Develop policies and procedures necessary to increase department accuracy and efficiency and provide strong leadership to our Accounts Payables department. The Accounts Payables Manager will ensure that the department operates smoothly, maintain accurate and complete records regarding payments to suppliers, lenders, and employees, process payments from clients, and hire, train, and support Accounts Payables staff members. He will also serve as a liaison between the Accounts Payables department and external parties, including lenders, suppliers, and government agencies.

To succeed as an Accounts Payables Manager, you should be focused on optimizing department processes and building a lasting relationships with others within and outside of the business. You should be knowledgeable, analytical, and decisive with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manages AP. Includes, Customer Vendor Relations, and the AP disbursement and tax-related matters.
  • Manages accounting functions including maintenance of accounts Payables, and ensures accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develops’, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts Payables functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Manages monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information; ensures the accuracy of Accounts payables reflected in financial statements.
  • Enters status change information into third parties procurement projects to ensure Payables information is accurate and up to date.
  • Provides accounting assistance to commercial managers and operations staff; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
  • Acts as a liaison between the company, government and external accountants to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.
  • Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product.
  • Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 10 or more years of Accounting experience and at least 2 years in the same position preferred experience in pharmaceuticals or commercial and distribution field
  • Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software
  • Must have SAP ERP AP system experience
  • Strong personal computer, business solutions, and software skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, clients, and upper management
  • Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles
  • Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Commitment to ethical behavior with a willingness to adhere to all company policies and current financial legislation.
