Job Description
- Research, explore and study different travel destination options
- Research destination and travel prices, customs, weather conditions, reviews etc.
- Develop strategic policies and programs for corporate travel.
- Handle and oversee all travel arrangements (air, lodgings etc.).
- Determining each client's requirements needs to Suggest suitable travel Packages.
- Manage relationships with travel agencies and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts or rates with travel service providers.
- Provide advice on travel documents, insurance, import/export regulations etc.
- Ensuring that clients pay the deposit before you confirm with bookings.
- Informing clients about the cancellation policy.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Keep searching for latest tourism trends.
- Prepare KPI reports and Track employees KPIs.
- Handle credit card programs and charges.
- Process T&E reports and handle reimbursements.
- Ensure compliance in all aspects of travel procedures.
- Managing the entire travel program & Suggest improvement and innovation in travel programs.
- Booking trips on behalf of employees.
- Identifying areas where T&E spend can be reduced.
- Creating reports and conduct analysis on travel spend, Tracking travel spend against budget
- Handling the expense process for travel costs.
- Maintain trustworthy relationships with travel agencies and vendors
- The Tourism Manager will develop and promote tourism in their region
- Identify different target markets and to design appropriate packages to meet their needs.
- Manage tourism, staff supervision and development.
- They regularly check and report to management on the status of the budget for tourism.
- They liaise and build close relationships with the media to promote tourism issues, and encourage community involvement
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tourism Manager is highly preferred.
- Bachelor Degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Tourism, Business or relevant field.
- Excellent knowledge of traveling software (computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travel)
- Proficiency in English, knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Proficiency sales skills and customer oriented approach.
- Well versed in various areas of travel (domestic/international, business/holidays, group/individual etc.).
- Ability to present and communicate effectively.
- Previous experience in T&E (tourism & Expenses) reporting.
- Knowledge of international travel regulations, customs and currencies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite as well as database technology.
- Proficiency in social media including Constant Contact, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Strong organizational, time management and priority placement skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Any additional certification related to traveling and tourism will be an advantage.
- Good time-management skills, ability to multitask.
- Critical-thinker and problem-solver.
- Familiarity with business travel management processes and practices.
- Existing relationships with airlines and hotels.
- Knowledge of standard finance expensing processes.
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, reliable and maintain a professional demeanor.
