Job Description
Main Duties:
- Monitors the organization's energy usage.
- Develops and implements practices and procedures designed to reduce energy consumption and/or improve efficiency of usage.
- May research alternative/renewable energy technologies and determine their feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.
- Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
- May give input into developing the budget.
- Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
- Assists project development, design management and construction to ensure solar operations will meet all contractual obligations/performance guarantees.
- Manage all solar O&M activities in designated project portfolio to maximize system performance.
- Responsible for monitoring energy consumption and usage patterns within your organisation and identifying areas where energy is wasted or used inefficiently.
- Following this assessment process, you’ll be designing and implementing plans for optimising energy use.
- Increase organisational awareness of the importance of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, using renewable sources of energy and minimising wastage.
- Maintain detailed records and produce documentation relating to energy consumption and energy management
- Keep up-to-date on the latest regulations relating to energy consumption and hazardous emissions to make sure that the organisation complies with all the relevant legislation.
Job Requirements
- From 6 to 10 years of experience
- Having knowledge of structural engineering is an advantage.
