Job Description

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the establishment and management of the Finance and Accounting function for Alcazar Energy, Egypt inclusive of project companies. As follows:

  • Develop, in coordination with Alcazar Energy Corporate, the local accounting practices and procedures in accordance with the Group standards, best practice and IFRS
  • Ensure correct book keeping, timely and accurate production of financial statements and presentation of financial performance to Corporate Finance Team; inclusive of a multitude of accounting activities including but not limited to general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and assisting in the preparation of budget and forecast activities under tight deadlines
  • Ensure project accounts are maintained in compliance with defined policies & procedures, IFRS and applicable Laws, including tax Laws
  • Structure and manage a team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with the other department managers to support overall department goals and objectives
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Advise/support staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of pay transactions
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and Audit
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information, including project accounting/costing
  • Assist with the budget and forecasting activities
  • Respond to inquiries from the Corporate Financial Team and country operations managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests etc.
  • Support the Corporate Finance Team with special projects and workflow process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements such as Tax filing & exemptions
  • Manage the migration of acquisition company(s) into Group financial operations

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting
  • ACMA/ACCA/ACA/CPA is desirable
  • 10+ year’s prior experience in financial reporting/general ledger/project accounting/project costing.
  • Experience working in a large organization/MNC, big ‘4’ Auditing company and preferably in the Energy Industry.
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-pace setting.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • ERP implementation experience would be a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate well at the senior management level
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required with minimum support
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • ERP implementation experience would be a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate well at the senior management level
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required with minimum support; self starter
