Job Description

Position Summary:

The Student Affairs Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring and support of students in the Public University Scholarships program and the implementation of functional aspects of student advising; scholarship recruitment and alumni support; enhancement activity coordination; and communications and outreach.

Responsibilities:

  • Student Monitoring and Support Track and monitor student progress to ensure that all student needs are met and all students are on track in coordination with University advisors
  • Responsible of study abroad program component which includes and not limited to coordination with universities in US , US embassy , Egyptian universities and USAID .
  • Check all students progress and alignment with requirements each semester and at the end of each summer
  • Ensure that students are adjusting to independent university life and being away from home, are performing academically, are participating fully in all enhancement activities, and are supported in securing work following graduation
  • Support students, identifying when help is needed beyond university advisors, peer coaches and mentors support
  • Visit students on campus four times per year (some travel may be required)
  • Regularly collect and contribute M&E data on your students per the M&E plan
  • Regularly collect and submit cost share data, and develop new sources of cost share
  • Communications and Outreach
  • Develop and apply a clear and comprehensive understanding of USAID and AMIDEAST branding requirements for this project and ensure that guidelines are consistently followed
  • Contribute to the design of communications including recruitment materials, promotional materials, success stories
  • Oversee the website and social media presence of the LSP program
  • Conduct outreach to private sector companies and other organizations to develop linkages to the program

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as education, business administration, communications, or economics
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and implementing scholarship or training programs, advising youth, and/or working in and with the Egyptian university system
  • Experience in scholarship management and/or student advising
  • Fluent in English and Arabic; with excellent written and oral communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution abilities
  • Demonstrated project management, organizational, and leadership skills

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in study abroad programs with USAID for scholarships and/or exchange programs
  • Experience in coordinating training programs and/or delivering training
  • Experience in marketing or communications
  • Experience working in the private sector
