About the JobAs an In-House Senior Translator, You are expected to provide high-quality translation of our content (news, as well as Islamic, academic and administrative content.) Translation will be most often from Arabic to Spanish, and sometimes from Spanish to Arabic.
The Tasks Include:
- Translating Administrative, Islamic and Academic texts, as well as News and Press Releases, from Arabic to Spanish and vice versa.
- Editing existing Spanish and/or Arabic content as required.
- Reporting regularly on the work progress, accomplishment.
- Creating and/or regularly updating a specific glossary for the commonly used terms in the project.
Job Requirements
- Native-level speaker of Arabic and Spanish
- Professional translator with at least 5 years of experience in translating/ editing Spanish content
- Degree in translation, linguistics or journalism
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), as well as publishing platforms and content management systems (CMS)
- Comfortable with technology and able to quickly master new tools
- Attentive to detail, able to follow instructions and change direction quickly, when needed
- Punctual, reliable, confident, positive, proactive and organized
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Experience creating learning materials (style guides, glossaries, term banks, etc.)
