Job Description

  • Review and evaluate tender documents from a technical point of view in order to identify risk factors, ensuring that technical terms comply with the relevant standards and coordinates with the Division Heads and MEP Operation Director for the overall risk assessment and bid decision.
  • Review and finalizes project cost estimates as prepared by the Estimation Engineer in terms of the required material as per bill of quantities (BOQ), amount of work, material/ equipment/ and manpower requirements during the tendering phase; this includes all systems, products and services to client specifications/ requirements.
  • Oversees the functions and activities related to the working of the Estimation Department and provides leadership for developing and continuously improving the Estimation Process.
  • To manage the bid qualification (bid go / no go) process for new opportunities.
  • Presents during monthly management meetings to discuss/ assess tenders and presents aspects related to tenders (risk factors, bid decisions, all issues and concerns related to tenders).
  • Obtains quotations and review, analyze and recommend the subcontractors and vendors.
  • Calculates statistical data, prices of various materials, labor costs, equipment, etc.
  • Develops, maintains, and evaluates estimating systems and procedures.
  • Finalizes estimation of all direct and indirect costs and consolidates tender documents for management review and approval.
  • Closely monitors the results of the tenders and update them in the tender register.
  • Generates weekly tender status reports highlighting progress on concerned tenders.
  • Prepares monthly status reports as related to tender wins/ losses to the MEP Technical Director.
  • Develops the Annual Operational Plan and prepares strategies/initiatives associated with quality assurance and control, develops KPIs that will be used to measure/demonstrate the effectiveness of their strategies in meeting their set goals, objectives and targets, also ensures consistency in reporting to the management.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of direct reports and provide guidance as and when required.
  • Manage the bid budget.
  • Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic, and business issues.
  • Provides assistance and consultancy to the Business Development Department in selecting projects to bid.

Job Requirements

  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s degree
  • 15+ years of experience
  • 3+ years in the same position (MEP Tender manager) in the Contracting industry is a MUST
