Job Description
- Producing complex end-user software documentation, reviewing/localizing user interfaces, estimating and planning medium-sized project documentation
- Supporting the development of technical documentation.
- Performing online search, communicating effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs), and consulting legacy documents.
- Keeping the Project Manager and Technical Writing Team Leader updated with task status and reporting risks, along with suggested solutions, in advance.
- Developing and supporting the development of English and Arabic software end-user documentation (user manuals, Help systems, and installation guides) in terms of Outline, Content (conceptual and procedural), Illustrations and screenshots, Peer-review of other TWs' output and Technical-review bug fixing
- Localizing application user interfaces and error messages, and software end-user documentation.
- Ensuring linguistic correctness and conformity to UI labels and error messages rules in developed solutions user interfaces.
- Supporting other departments in fixing style problems in MS Word documents by applying MS Word template styles.
- Estimating documentation activities medium size projects for oneself and for other technical writers.
- Planning one’s tasks and committing to the communicated plan to meet project deadlines.
- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions, and maintain a record of how problems were solved to share the knowledge and have it available for reference in the future
Job Requirements
- Excellent command of Microsoft Suit, Adobe RoboHelp and HTML Workshop.
- Excellent command of Image Editing Tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop or Snagit)
- Excellent command of Localization Tools (e.g,. Trados or Microsoft Helium)
- Microsoft Project Plan is a plus
