Job Description
- Manage the platform back-end servers and manage the relative monitoring tools.
- Ensure to meet the systems availability for all the back-end systems excluding planned outage.
- Follow-up on the daily health checks and fix problems once they appear on a server.
- Insure to solve assigned Trouble Tickets (TTS) for the supported systems within SLA.
- Clear notification for any production problems - IR report
- Executing service/change requests and manage the proactive problems investigations and RCA
- Escalate and communicate raised issues from Vodafone OpCos to the 3rd line of support.
- Keep up to date with the new product versions and new releases.
- Transfer the knowledge to the first line of support.
- Transfer the knowledge to the new comers in the support team.
- Ensure to use the pre-production environment for testing activities before launching a new service.
- Ensure to maintain the preproduction environment similar to the production platform.
- Ensure to maintain the preproduction environment availability for all the back-end systems excluding planned outage.
- Manage installing and upgrading software. This includes the deployment of new shipments
- Managing any crisis related to the system
- Ensure handling all Release Management Governance.
- Align with all project stake holders to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Ensure that the architecture and infrastructure on which the application will be deployed are robust and stable
- Ensure that a detailed deployment plan has been documented along with a rollback plan should anything go wrong during deployment
- Provides management reports on release progress
Job Requirements
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Solid Linux/Unix systems engineering knowledge and shell scripting
- Windows administration background is required
- ITIL Foundation v3 is required and Good understanding of the SW life-cycle design, development, testing and acceptance, implementation, performance optimization and troubleshooting
- Knowledge about Relational Database SQL programing and experience in Business Intelligence & ETL Systems
- Knowledge on computer networking and infrastructure systems.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Bachelor of computer science/ engineering
- 2-6 years IT Support, system administration & operation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Fluent English both oral and written is a must.
- Ownership and commitment attitude
- Excellent analytical thinking skills and communication Skills
- Handling multi-tasks
- Ability to work under Pressure
