Job Description

Main Duties:

  • Dispatchers are the people behind the scenes who ensure that truck drivers have cargo to carry and stick to their appointed arrival times and destinations. Dispatchers are the backbone of NAQLA, helping truck drivers to concentrate on routes and roadways and to safely deliver their cargoes.
  • In summary, the Dispatcher Head is responsible for managing the dispatchers as well as the production goals of the field personnel. He is also responsible for hiring, terminating, reviewing, mentoring and training the dispatchers.
  • Role includes outdoor duties and continuous auditing tasks.
  • Dispatchers Head- works in a centralized location coordinating and managing the delivery of ground-transported cargo.
  • Dispatchers Head spend part of their days negotiating the best rates with vendors, the most cost-effective delivery options with customers and the most efficient routes with dispatchers/drivers, all while answering phones when dispatchers need assistance.
  • They also fulfill an administrative role by filing the appropriate paperwork, monitoring dispatchers' progress, processing orders and managing dispatcher concerns.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in freight or transportation field is preferred
  • Strong Communications Skills Needed, excellent communication skills and a strong command of the Local language to ensure that the dispatchers understand their instructions.
  • Successful candidate also needs to have excellent time-management skills and the ability to work in high-pressure situations and fast-paced environments. Because one of their main duties is to prioritize dispatchers/drivers’ schedules; superior organizational abilities are required.
  • Road Experience Not Needed- While on-the-road experience is helpful for supporting new dispatchers or gaining familiarity with the Department of Transportation regulations, on-the-job training can be enough.
  • Being comfortable working with computer software is important to keep track of their dispatchers' schedules with sophisticated NAQLA application. Because communication skills are so important, Dispatchers Head would benefit from having previous experience in a decision-making role.
  • Experience with coordinating groups of people or tasks is a MUST
