Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • To ensure that all inbound materials are sorted and dispatched as per agreed schedule with the station as well as cover the floor when the Hub Manager is not on duty.

Job Description:

  • To ensure smooth running of HUB Collections and Line Haul operations, as well as promote and maintain lean technologies, 5S, Kaizen and Health and Safety within the Hub.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and plan inventory and storing areas
  • Ensure the accuracy of daily hub transactions, sorting and storing
  • Maintain inventory records, and keep track of received and dispatched items, as well as return items
  • Ensure non readable airway bills has to pass to Quality Control system
  • Ensure all shipments are placed inside the roll cages as per the zones and transited to destination on time as per the line haul schedule.
  • Coordinate with Call Center and answer fresh desk tickets within SLA
  • Allocate and dispatch the work to ensure an efficient and cost effective operation
  • Create action plans for areas with correction needs and discuss them with the Hub Manager
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety work methods and maintain 5S and Kaizen initiative in the hub
  • Ensure compliance with operations policies and procedures
  • Regularly conduct H & S checks, GEMBA walks in the hub, and cover the floor during the absence of the Hub Manager and ensure the proper maintenance of all hub facility
  • Follow up on regular check and maintenance of the conveyor machine and coordinate any needed requirements for spare parts, training and service contracts
  • Prepare team rotation schedules, and follow up on attendance and performance levels, schedule internal staffs and line haul driver roster and recommend adequate manpower are allocated where and when needed
  • Effectively plan, manage and maximize the turnover of forward and reverse deliveries of line haul drivers
  • Develop status reports on service and productivity on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Train, motivate and develop the hub team and follow up to ensure the application of the training given to the team members
  • Coordinate with the operations teams to ensure the smooth work-flow and provide any needed assistance
  • Research and keep abreast with leading logistics and hub management practices and industry standards, and prepare recommendation plans on how to apply innovative techniques to improve service delivery
  • Conduct any other activities relevant to the job

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualification / Experience / Training:

  • Minimum of 4 years in hub and warehousing operations, preferably in the logistics industry
  • Candidate must be fluent in Arabic and English
  • Must have experience in leading and supervising teams.
  • Bachelor Degree in business management, operations/supply chain is preferable

Technical Knowledge:

  • Knowledge in supply chain, warehousing and courier services, logistics software
  • Good knowledge in MS office programs (MS word, Excel, Power Point, and outlook)
  • Strong knowledge in warehousing methodologies, health and safety measures
