Job Description
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in generation and transmission including advances in technology and implement best practices.
- Ensures operations is executed with high levels of safety, quality while encouraging continuous improvement.
- Oversees daily operation of one or more utilities plants or operation of an electrical shop and repair and maintenance of electrical utilities, including high voltage electrical systems.
- Supervises employees; plans and assigns work and oversees and/or coordinates and monitors the activities of employees.
- Provides or schedules appropriate training for employees.
- Requisitions required tools, equipment, materials, and supplies; obtains price quotes as necessary.
- Inspects utility plant and plant equipment for safety and maintenance status.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, regulations, and laws.
- Assigns and inspects preventive maintenance and repair work.
- Schedules utilities down times to minimize disruption of services.
- Interfaces with service contractors and vendors.
- Maintains inventories and records and prepares reports.
- Facilitates response to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Experience managing large-scale infrastructure assets and integrating a wide variety of stakeholder interests into actionable plans and policies.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in a field requiring business operations
