Job Description

Main Duties:

  • Compiles payroll data such as working hours , sales commissions, taxes, insurance, and other deductions to be withheld, from time sheets to other records.
  • Prepares computer input forms, enters data into computer files, computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
  • Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  • Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
  • Records data concerning transfer or employee between departments.
  • Prorates expenses debited or credited to each department for cost accounting records.
  • Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes and deductions.
  • Keeps records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
  • Assists with accounts receivable collection and special projects as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Age 30 Max.
  • Analytical – Collects and researches data, has the ability to articulate and solve both complex and simple problems/concepts and make logical decisions based on the available information.
  • Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Team Work – Balances team and individual responsibilities, able to collaborate and work well with other employees of the organization.
  • Organizational Support – Follows policies and procedures; Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time.

  • Planning/Organizing – Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently.
  • Quality – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Quantity – Completes work in a timely manner.
  • Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree in related business/finance field preferred; minimum 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
