Job Description
We are pleased to offer an exciting and challenging opportunity for a position of IT Officer employed with the Sheraton Office at Global Study UK.
Role summary:
IT Officer will monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks of the Egypt Branches. The post will be installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person. Responsibilities include keeping records of equipment, updating IT and Data policies and communicating with IT Department in London. The role is crucial to ensure the correct running and maintenance of IT systems at Global Study UK by responding to queries and maintaining safe and smooth running of the systems.
General Conditions:
- Working hours: Sunday to Thursday 9:00am to 18:00pm (incl. 1-hour lunch)
- Location: Sheraton Office (flexibility required to travel to other offices)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up users’ workstations with laptops and necessary peripheral devices
- set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
- Competent in supporting Windows 10 and macOS
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
- Support users at Egypt Offices
- Fault finding, setting up equipment, liaising with the staff to ensure equipment is working and in the right location.
- Install and configure appropriate software.
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, WAPs, switches, WAN, DNS and DHCP
- Develop and maintain local networks.
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate software and computer equipment
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
- Keep Audit records of all equipment/replacements.
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and liaise with finance to place orders
- Setting up and Supporting Users mobiles, Android & IOS
- Liaising with external suppliers
- Supporting and Maintaining Cloud Telephone system
- test and evaluate new technology
- conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
- Regularly communicate and report to IT Department in London about equipment (laptops and telephones)
Job Requirements
Skills:
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or experience as IT Technician or relevant position
- Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication ability
- Knowledge of networks
- Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Knowledge of Office 365 and Office applications
- Knowledge of Exchange, Teams, Azure
- Knowledge of Anti-Virus software implementation and support
- Knowledge of VPN such as SSL
Other requirements:
- To work at flexible schedule to meet customer’s/business needs:
- to work at weekends during Fairs/School Tours and other campaigns (approx. 8 Fairs/School Tours - 10 weekends a year)
- to be accessible at weekends via phone/e-mail
- To travel regularly to MENA region (approx. up to 8 weeks of travel)
