Job Description

We are pleased to offer an exciting and challenging opportunity for a position of Human Resource officer employed with the Sheraton Office at Global Study UK. 

 The HR Officer is responsible for overseeing the operation of Human Resources in all of our offices located in Egypt (Sheraton, 5th Settlement, 6th October, Alexandria, Maadi).

General Conditions:

  • Working hours:  Sunday to Thursday 9:00am to 18:00pm (incl. 1-hour lunch)
  • Location: Sheraton Office (flexibility required to travel to other offices)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the sourcing, screening and recruiting of employees
  • Coordinating interviews with the Branch managers for all the offices
  • Following up on the interview process status
  • Prepare reports and presentations on HR-related metrics like total number of hires by office
  • Responsible for performing the administrative/HR work; e.g. social insurance, on-boarding activities
  • Response to all staff inquiries in regards to leave records', entitlements, policies & procedures
  • Maintain a solid and organized filing system to all staff personal files and letters
  • Regularly communicate and report to HR Department in London about the recruitment activities, daily performance expectations and updates on employee's cases
  • Liaise with other interrelated departments in London (Management and Finance)
  • Produce daily reports of all HR activities
  • Staying current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and laws regarding employment practices
  • Maintaining digital personnel records like Sickness, emergency contacts
  • Update internal databases with new hire information
  • Distribute guidelines and FAQ documents about company policies
  • Gather payroll data like bank accounts and working days
  • Responsible for the development and preparation of documents relevant to recruitment: job descriptions, person specifications, job adverts
  • Communicate with HR department for company contracts and policies
  • Responsible for maintaining employee records of all offices in Egypt
  • Responsible for undertaking employee reviews
  • Management of employee grievances
  • Responsible for Annual Holiday management and sick days
  • Liaising with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety
  • Maintaining HR policies, procedures, manuals, folders induction and training documentation

Job Requirements

Skills:

  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data and cases;
  • Organisational skills and the ability to understand detailed information;
  • Interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels;
  • The ability to analyse, interpret and explain Egyptian employment law;
  • Integrity and approachability, as managers and staff must feel able to discuss sensitive and confidential issues with you;
  • Curiosity and a willingness to challenge organisational culture where necessary;
  • Influencing and negotiating skills to implement personnel policies;
  • Potential to handle a leadership role.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Work Experience:

  • Relevant HR qualification - Bachelor’s Degree or above from an accredited institution of higher education 
  • Proven track record of compiling HR documents/policy
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel.
  • Excellent communicator
  • Understanding of UK HE system and it’s challenges

Other requirements:

  • To work at flexible schedule to meet customer’s needs:
  • to work at weekends during Fairs/School Tours and other campaigns (approx. 8 Fairs/School Tours - 10 weekends a year)
  • to work extra hours if requested
  • to be accessible at weekends via phone/e-mail
  • To travel regularly to MENA region (approx. up to 8 weeks of travel)
