Job Description
- Analyzes natural language, recognizes patterns, and identifies exceptions to them.
- Processes and maintains language artifacts
- Proposes solutions to terminology issues raised by staff members and conducts documentary research and consultation
- Uses rule-based and statistical methods in NLP to develop and improve error-correction checks.
- Creates and improves test and training data for our NLP applications; works with corpora and dictionaries.
- Supervises the work done by the terminology assistants and validates the records they create.
- Collaborates with other team members in applying analytic techniques to improve performance of assigned lexicons.
- Leverages understanding of linguistics and assigned language to improve machine translation performance.
- Collects corpora and evaluates performance of language identification modules.
- Prepares test cases to assure proper performance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 3+ years of experience in computational linguistics, language data processing, semantics, etc
- Knowledge of theoretical linguistics including morphology, syntax, and semantics
- Ability to use all documentary and information sources and perform complex research tasks
- Demonstrate professional competence and mastery of translation or terminology work.
- Highly collaborative team player
