Job Description
The Systems Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. This individual will also mentor and provide guidance to other IT folks.
Responsibilities:
- Windows Server Management (OS Deployments; Patch management; Software Distribution, etc.)
- Management of Microsoft infrastructure products (SQL, SharePoint, Exchange, etc.)
- Virtualization (HyperV; Hyper-V Failover Cluster, Virtual Machine Manager)
- Planning, coordinating and performing maintenance activities, upgrades, patches and disaster recovery tests.
- Daily business (troubleshooting; support; monitoring).
- Documentation updates.
- Network, Storage and Backup Tasks.
- Process management (review and optimizing existing processes; define and implement new processes where needed).
Job Requirements
- Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems (Server 2008 R2– 2012 R2).
- Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Active Directory.
- Backup Technologies (Symantec Backup Exec; Veeam Backup & Replication)
- Managed Antivirus Server (Symantec Endpoint Protection; Kaspersky Security Center)
- Security skills (Server hardening).
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent (MCSE/MCITP) is required.
- Practical Experience (at least 6 years) in working with Microsoft Server products.
- Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
