Job Description
- Supervise logistics Officer in daily logistics supporting arrangements and procedural actions for projects
- Supervise logistics Officer in daily logistics operations in support of programmed objectives
- Coordinating procurement of items from local suppliers or elsewhere as appropriate, as guided by senior logistics superintendent
- Daily Vehicle fleet and fuel management as per procedures
- Updates compound management and security to the best practices and against the needs identified in the department to Logistics officer
- Supervise logistics Officer in liaison with local authorities as appropriate & Liaison with external logistics staff as appropriate
- Ensure vehicles, communications equipment and drivers meet safety and security standards
- Ensure fire safety and workplace health and safety standards are adhered to
- Updating of periodical reports of logistics officer
- Promote improvement initiatives with regards to the safety of logistics units and operations within the _parameters of the Company H.S.E. policy.
- Prepare and process import and export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, or procedures.
- Understand all the procedures that must be done for clearing sea shipments and air cargo shipments
- Other duties often include guiding shipments through customs, preparing and submitting documents, determining tariff and duty payments, tracking shipments, and using the tariff coding system to classify shipments.
- Maintain knowledge on understanding the standards of import and export authority for each shipment
- Manage a team of brokers to expedite the clearing of cargo.,
- Pay, or arrange for payment of, taxes, charges, fees and duties on shipments.
- Request or compile necessary import documentation, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin, and cargo-control documents
- Monitor or trace the location of shipments
- Estimate the costs of shipments or services
- Gather and collect various commercial data and prepare required reports.
- Analyze process and procedures to reduce operating costs and timing for import businesses
- Actively foster a working team approach within the Project team and interfaces with internal and external stakeholders.
- To ensure conformity with all Company and legislative safety directives and rules relative to Company logistics activities.
- Assist with audits I and inspections of contractors/ vessels I facilities and follow u on technical and operations audit
- Planning/Preparing mobilization and demobilization of land equipment
- Monitor the technical status of operations conformity with the Company Management System and industry best Practices.
- Monitor the progress of corrective action plans issued by Contractors and Company.
Job Requirements
Function Specific Experience :
- Schedule, plan, and prepare various inshore / offshore logistics operations.
- Update Company Standards, procedures, work instruction documents during execution phase.
Industry Related Experience:
- Provide support to Projects, Marine, Logistics, and other sections as required, ensuring satisfaction. This includes monitoring of "third party" operations where Company assets are constructed. (Offshore logistics base).
