Job Description
- Review all electrical designs and criteria in compliance with the standards and specs.
- Prepare all required electrical value engineering and coordination drawings or documents.
- Audit and review the tender documents pertaining the electrical scope of work.
- Conduct supervision responsibilities in adherence to guidelines as indicated in the supervision manual; ensure that supervision guidelines are being adhered to by site electrical engineers at all times
- Assist the Project Manager in the selection and approval of sub-contractors for electrical systems in coordination with the owner’s/client’s representative
- Review all shop/composite drawings, material and samples submitted by the contractors to ensure compliance with technical specifications
- Assist in resolving any issues raised by contractors (e.g. requirements for time extensions, change order requests, variations etc); inform the Project Manager of any discrepancies identified against contract documents and make recommendations as appropriate
- Inspect all procured electrical components and materials and ensure that material on site are being adequately stored and protected prior to their installation
- Supervise the work of electrical foremen/technicians to guarantee an effective work execution.
- Supervise the installations of electrical systems on a daily/regular basis to ensure quality control and compliance with contract documents and approved material and shop drawings
- Ensure that any non-compliance is communicated to the project Manager on a timely basis in order to avoid any delays in construction
- Remain abreast on changes in local ministerial requirements regarding electric systems; ensure that any changes are updated in the specifications of electrical components/materials etc
- Contribute to managing the health and safety of all on-site personnel; report any observed safety violations to the Project Manager and/or HSSE Manager (if available)
- Attend meetings (e.g. progress meetings, coordination and specially called meetings etc.) as and when required
- Assist Sr. Technical Office Engineer in preparing progress reports and in verifying costs related to electrical system installations in order to finalize monthly payment invoices
- Lead snagging procedure to check electrical systems after substantial completion of construction activities have ended; ensure that a snag list is prepared based on outstanding works and submit to the Project Manager for approval
- Review all as-built drawings provided by contractors prior to their submittal to final approval
- Review all operation, instruction and maintenance manuals provided by contractors prior to handing over the development to the owner/client
Job Requirements
- Engineering, Electrical Discipline
- 8 – 10 years of experience varied between both technical office and site
- Knowledge of International Standards and Codes
- Knowledge of laws and local regulatory framework
