Certified Flight Dispatcher

In view of the flight dispatcher job’s high level of accountability, you will be preparing the flight dossier by taking into consideration all external information such as meteorology and air navigation. Before every flight you will be operating a briefing with the crew. Besides, you will be reactive in case of unforeseen circumstances on the flight and will always be able to propose rerouting solutions for the Captain. So, you will be in constant communication with local authorities, airports, aircraft crew and airport ground staff. You will also engage in other technical resources in EMEA region and World Wide Divisional resources.

Day-to-day Job Responsibilities

• Perform pre-flight duties, including maintenance checks.
• Prepare and sign the dispatch release, the legal document providing authorization for a flight to depart.
• Share responsibility with the captain for the safety and operational control of flights under his/her guidance.
• Analyze and evaluate meteorological information to determine potential hazards to the safety of flight and to select the most desirable & economic air route. Evaluate & re-evaluate weather at the departure & arrival sites, along the flight route, and similarly assess any other factors enroute. Also evaluate weather conditions at alternate airports in the event of an emergency landing.
• Prepare flight plans containing information such as maximum allowable takeoff & landing weights, weather reports, field conditions, NOTAMs and many other informational components required for the safe completion of flight.
• Update the pilot in command on significant changes to weather or flight plan and recommend flight plan alternates, such as changing course, altitude and, if required, enroute landings in the interest of safety and economy.
• Delay or cancel the flight if unsafe conditions threaten the safety of his/her aircraft or passengers.
• Ensure the mechanical performance of the plane on a regular basis.
• Supervise aircraft safety and maintenance team to complete security and operational checks.
• Compute the amount of fuel required for the safe completion of flight according to type of aircraft, distance of flight, maintenance limitations, weather conditions and minimum fuel requirements prescribed by aviation regulations.
• Evaluate & review aircraft weight, cargo loads and fuel loads.
• Monitor weather conditions, aircraft position reports, and aeronautical navigation charts to evaluate the progress of flight. Also monitor all activities after the airplane is grounded and ensure compliance to all procedures.
• Coordinate with various agencies such as air traffic control, air safety department and other relevant agencies to facilitate smooth operation of entire fleet.
• Provide flight dispatch and planning services to company management based on company policies and procedures.
• Maintain record chartering of aircraft, company programs and emergencies.
• Coordinate with the company’s Technical Team in EMEA region and worldwide with regard to replying to the technical questions received from potential customers.
