Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Officer is a full-time position based in the Cairo office. S/he shall define and develop the strategies to increase the engagement of business leaders, corporations and foundations in Egypt’s FP/RH efforts during and beyond the program's lifetime. S/he shall plan and oversee advocacy and networking to increase awareness of key stakeholders from the FP Sector, health professionals’ syndicates, and the corporate sector (as policies and regulations allow) in encouraging the private sector to play a greater role in FP/RH. The PSE Officer shall generate learning, record successes, and create opportunities to sustainably expand SEFPP’s footprint and achieve its key results. S/he shall coordinate with all SEFPP's teams when required to support the program’s overall goals. S/he will report to the Social Behavior Change Communication Director (SBCC).

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review previous experience and successes in incorporating PSE within and outside of Egypt in order to identify potential partners in FP/RH;
  • Plan and conduct assessments to better understand how SEFPP can increase private sector involvement in FP/RH fields;
  • Review SEFPP Current PSE Strategy and develop action plan for implementation, as well as presentations, and promotional materials (if required) to achieve its intended results in enhancing the PSE contributions in FP/RH;
  • Engage private sector partners, potentially including private mobile and internet providers, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies and distributors, and universities, microfinance organizations, women’s groups etc., as appropriate
  • Participate in the annual CSR Forum and similar events to expand the SEFPP's linkages with participating corporate leaders to increase their understanding of FP/RH issues, and engage them in participating with the program’s activities;
  • Explore, and create opportunities for the SEFPP to gain the support of the corporate sector and its contributions to advance its aims and impact;
  • Work with identified partners (including the FP Sector and NPC) to develop specific PSE activities.
  • Facilitate a dynamic and effective partnership with the public and private sectors, the GOE, governorate and district governments, other USG initiatives, as well as other stakeholders working in Egypt and implementing interrelated programs in Vocational Training such as TVET and WISE program.
  • Work closely and coordinate with the Workers’ Health Program Officer (WHM) for scaling up workers’ health program models in private businesses in nine governorates.
  • Participate in other SEFPP activities as requested.

Job Requirements

  • BA degree in business administration or related field with a higher educational qualification in marketing preferred;
  • Minimum five years of experience working in the corporate sector environment and engaging in PSE activities;
  • Demonstrated interest in supporting FP/RH causes and aims that SEFPP promotes in Egypt;
  • Demonstrated ability to find creative ways to engage the private sector on FP/RH issues and find the appropriate “hooks” that will appeal to their interests;
  • Ability to network at various corporate levels, and with the MOHP/FP Sector to help find common ground;
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data;
  • Strong English and Arabic language skills, both verbal and written;
  • Strong time management;
  • Excellent administration and organizational skills;
  • Team player.
