Job Description
Main purpose:
- The supervisor SW is responsible for directly supervising, and supporting the Social case Workers. The supervisor will analyze, improve and ensure the quality of Social Work services of the MSF-project in Cairo through best-care practices in compliance with MSF operational procedures. The supervisor will actively participate in the on-going development and implementation of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) approach to patient care. The supervisor will comply with all administrative and management requirements and requests of the Project.
Accountabilities
- Directly supervise, and support Social Work clinicians
- Ensure complete understanding and implementation of MSF procedures by SW staff through provision and review of updated materials.
- Training needs are analyzed, scheduled, planned and conducted
- Conduct routine, one-on-one observation and weekly clinical individual and group supervision of SW staff.
- Enhance communication skills (written and oral) of the SW team.
- Actively monitor emotional well-being and needs of SW staff
- Update Patient File to accurately reflect required information and supporting documentation for referrals and follow-up.
- Ensure SW work is in compliance with explicit and implicit requirements of the Project and is complete, accurate and timely.
Reporting and documentation
- Actively participate in weekly –and monthly internal staff -and management meetings on strategic and analyzing the progress and future of the SW program within the Cairo Project.
- Compile, analyze and submit routine and as-requested SW data and information for use in Project and Mission reports.
- Transmit appropriate information to SW staff.
- Implement and submit all required Administrative & Human Resource documentation on time and accurately.
- Participate in lessons learn analysis and tools adjustment.
Partnerships and networks
- Participate actively in internal –and external social actor meetings on regular basis.
- Mapping and regular update of social partners, local authorities, Community Base Organization - CBOs activities, Non-Governmental Organization - NGOs, and other social services in order to improve social services scope and responsiveness
- Collaborate with internal staff in developing and promoting a network of external partners who support SW services and referrals.
- Inform regularly the team/project about social activities and updated information about partners
Teamwork (MDT/Multi-Disciplinary Team)
- Maintain a close and regular collaboration and exchange of information with the other MSF professionals linked with Mental Health and Medical activities, through MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) approach.
- Educate and provide resource tools for MDT members in referral of services not requiring SW follow-up.
- Actively contribute to the development of the MDT process including organization, forms and reporting tools.
- Support MDTeam in the development, implementation, routine review and final close-out of a comprehensive patient treatment plan.
- Serve as Facilitator to an assigned MDTeam
- Support MDTeam in case-study presentations/discussions at both the MDTeam level and larger group level.
Job Requirements
Education
- Desirable degree in social work or social sciences
- Spoken Egyptian / Middle Eastern Arabic
- Written and spoken English mandatory
Professional experiences
- Experience with MSF or other NGOs is an asset
- Previous experience working in multicultural context is desirable
- Experience in working within a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience in working with the refugee communities
