Job Description
- The Mobile QA Engineer is responsible for performing system verification testing activities; assisting in maintaining and implementing the test methods and procedures necessary for the verification of mobile systems and company web sites; performing other duties as required to ensure that the products or features meets requirements and quality standards.
- This position is responsible for testing multiple projects at one time, in various different stages of the projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in requirements gathering and definition, based on product knowledge and end user interaction.
- Create core test plan that encompasses functional, regression and smoke tests.
- Daily testing of Web, iOS, Android and Windows applications.
- Work closely with the development team to test systems for defects using Scrum, Kanban and other Agile/Lean methodologies.
- Perform data analysis, testing and validation using SQL queries and data-driven testing methodologies to create repeatable tests that leverage source to target validation.
- Perform ad hoc and exploratory testing beyond pre-existing test cases and User Stories.
- Understand and utilize risk-based testing approaches.
- Enter and query defects in defect tracking database and generate test cases providing meaningful acceptance criteria in tracking database as necessary
- Consult and advise management regarding software readiness/jeopardy items.
- Build QA automation scripts.
- Manage User Acceptance Testing and provide technical customer support for end users.
- Perform business and system analysis; provide recommendations for process improvement.
- Author user guides and provide training to end users if necessary.
- Provide daily operational support for production application systems, while providing some off-hour support coverage for critical business needs.
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and work independently.
- Administrates release process and manages product versions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar discipline.
- 1-3 years of software/Quality Assurance testing experience.
- Extensive experience with mobile device testing including Apple, Android and Windows.
- Test case, use case and user story creation and execution.
- Experience working with end-customers affiliate/3rd party partners over the phone, email and in person.
- Understanding of Relational Databases; Working knowledge of SQL preferred.
- Good understanding of HDCP technology
- Good understanding of PlayReady, Bitmovin, FairPlay and Widevine DRM technology.
- Experience with Agile development environments, specifically Scrum and Kanban
- Experience with JIRA, JIRA Agile and Zephyr preferred.
- Experience in production/release process of mobile applications.
- Strong communication and problem solving skills.
- Experience with functional automation tools like Selenium preferred.
- Telecom/Wireless/Data Networks Applications experience preferred.
