Job Description

Strategic and Operational

  • To do self-training at least 20% of his working time to maintain a high level of knowledge and skills to deserve the FESTO Certification and to satisfy the demands of the customers at any time.
  • Provide training opportunities for student success and accessibility to courses and programs
  • Provide high-level customer service and exceptional hospitality to all Training Centre clients
  • Provide training to personnel of Industrial companies according to the needs of the customers
  • Provide training to the general public, nationals and customers from overseas.
  • Design Textbooks and Workbooks for higher education according to the needs of the customers and the market
  • Design new training Modules according to the requirements of the market and the Technology that we have at the FACT Centre.
  • Participate in national and international training according to the needs of the FACT Centre.
  • Conduct research and development of industrial solutions in the field where it I significant to do, in conjunction and according to the needs of national industrial companies and overseas.
  • Participate actively in Conferences, Job Fairs and Conventions to promote the potential of the FACT Centre.
  • Develop short- and long-term goals, operating objectives, strategies and implementation plans.
  • Assist with the tracking of all financial activity and expenditures and use approved funding in accordance with the budget plan.
  • Develop and coordinate plans to ensure the effective use of all resources in accordance with approved standards.
  • Oversee the development, design, implementation, and maintenance of the training environments
  • Maintain appropriate Instructor-level certifications for approved curricula/programs.
  • Provide opportunities for student success and accessibility to courses and programs
  • Acquire and maintain the physical resources for normal operations
  • Ensure that all required certificates, licenses, permits and operating requirements are current and posted.
  • Comply with personnel regulations, policies and procedures.

People and resource management

  • Participate in interviews and selection of staff
  • Advise employees at the FACT Centre on performance and related issues.
  • Conduct program and instructional evaluations
  • Review safety practices and work techniques of staff, inspecting work areas to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Join forces with the Executive Director to foster collaborative relationships with local schools and organizations

Other duties assigned

  • There may be additional duties in accordance with improved or enhanced organization wide goals and objectives.
  • Job duties and requirements are liable to variation in the future to reflect changes in educational philosophy and methodology, clients’ need and organizational requirements.

Job Requirements

Specific job requirements

  • Must be willing to do hands-on job with technologies related to the Mechatronics
  • Must be willing to do self-training at least 20% of the working time
  • Must be willing to provide training to students, personnel from the industry, CMU staff and the general public.
  • Must be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • Must be able to supervise and motivate a team
  • Must be adept in instructional design, curriculum development and program evaluation
  • Must be able to safeguard the financial health of the operation by monitoring enrollment, inventory, financial data and staffing levels and adjusting when necessary.

Required knowledge and experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechatronics or any engineering related to the Mechatronics. (Based on the FESTO definition of Mechatronics).
  • Technician Degree or higher in Mechatronics or any field related to the Mechatronics. (Based on the FESTO definition of Mechatronics).
  • Minimum of 1 year of industrial experience in maintenance, production or R&D departments.
  • Experience as an instructor, lecturer or Engineer is preferred.
  • Practical engineering background an asset
  • Experience in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design strongly desired
  • Experience in Competency-Based Education/Training strongly desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
