Job Description

This position is required for a Multinational Petrochemical Company Located in Damietta, Main Duties:

  • Contribute to the development of IT Shared Services as a new global capability
  • Provide outstanding second level support, and engage the necessary resources for third level support to both regional and global systems
  • Infrastructure support includes the secure operation and maintenance of all data center and network hardware and associated software (including single sign-on and domain administration, server virtualization, multi-user thin client virtualization, etc) as well as site access control, CCTV, telephony and video conferencing and other technologies as assigned at each site.
  • Duties include system monitoring, provisioning new virtual or physical server environments, operating system installations/patches/upgrades, server and storage administration, network monitoring and configuration, backup and restore operations, capacity management, performance tuning, faults, disaster recovery testing, etc, and may involve liaison with users, IT peers, Managed Service providers or software/hardware manufacturers.
  • Be the owner for Services or Solutions in the Service Catalog as assigned to you.
  • Conduct problem solving and ensure the system’s efficiency and integrity.
  • Actively participate in the transition of new infrastructure services from development to production, including testing, training, go-live and change management, as well as the decommissioning of legacy infrastructure services.
  • Apply Company's IT policies and standards and ensure compliance and alignment to our road maps and architecture.
  • Maintain an understanding of business system components so as to be able to effectively troubleshoot problems.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and research future technology advances in order to recommend new technologies and process improvements.
  • Develop strong relationships with Service Desk and Applications teams. Collaborate with IT colleagues and vendors in order to understand the impact of application strategies and technology road-maps.
  • Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure services or IT processes and procedures.
  • Maintain system operation guides, IT knowledge base and hardware/software asset databases. Provide input to IT policies, procedures and standards.
  • Assist the Service Desk to provide effective first level infrastructure support, providing training as required.
  • Undertake after-hours support for business critical systems. This will be either as on-call support for emergency situations, or agreed planned after-hours work

Job Requirements

  • University qualification in Information Technology or related field.
  • at least from 3-4 years of experience working as a system administrator
  • Ex-Multinational.
  • Advanced knowledge in VMware, Windows Back-end Systems (Windows Server, DNS/DHCP, AD, MS SQL, Exchange, etc.), Unix/Linux Administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of Server Infrastructure & Storage Area Networks (SAN) and the tool-sets to manage appropriately.
  • Knowledge of data integrity concepts especially relating to data backup, recovery and disaster recovery.
  • Knowledge of network architectures (switches, routers wireless AP), VoIP telecommunications.
  • Familiarity with service management tools such as Service Desk Plus.
  • Microsoft Certified System Administrator or ITIL Certification an asset.
