Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW/PURPOSE

The Development & Experiential Learning Coordinator’s purpose is to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of training events and special projects that meet the needs of our students and graduates. Responsibilities include manage, design, develop, coordinate and conduct large or small scale training programs.

Reports to: Head of student development office

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the management, design, development and coordination of all programs falling under the development and Experiential Learning unit.
  • Map out training plans, design and develops training programs (outsourced or in-house)
  • Choose appropriate training methods per case (simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes etc)
  • Market available training opportunities to students and provide necessary information
  • Conduct an all-inclusive wide needs assessment with the academic staff at CIC and identify students’ skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on the students’ skills and how it affects KPIs
  • Partner with educational/ training stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding the design and implementation of training opportunities
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
  • Contacting Engineering factories and organizations to arrange field trips, Seminars and events.
  • Set the annual plan & budget needed for the unit.
  • Responsible for the management and coordination of the part time program including: collecting the needs from each department, job descriptions and development plans.
  • Surveys employers and graduates to measure the effectiveness of programs offered
  • Becomes involved with and attends professional organization and community events to network and become more familiar with specific industry needs.
  • Develops and maintains processes used to identify and execute training opportunities and program for students, respectively.
  • Keeps students informed of training activities and opportunities (e.g., training programs, workshops, part-time positions, field trips, etc.).
  • Communicates the marketing needs of the unit to the social media coordinator and follows up to ensure its implementation in timely and presentable manner.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write and speak persuasively.
  • Excellent English and Arabic writing skills.
  • Highly organized and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good Communication skills and ability to work with wide range in a diverse community.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent command of MS Office.
