Job Description
- Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
- Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
- Assist with the mechanical design(Design Validation) of heating, ventilation, fueling systems, and air conditioning systems as well as plumbing and fire protection for commercial and institutional facilities
- Perform assignments designed to develop professional working knowledge and abilities, requiring application of advanced new technologies
- Assist in the preparation of deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, ShopDrawings, specifications, and cost estimates related to heating, ventilating, fueling systems, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems for commercial and governmental facilities
- Perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents
- Perform construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review and Production, RFI Rais and response, and respond to client questions
- Work within a project team environment and possess good presentation and client interface skills
- Coordinate work with other project disciplines
- Work independently and make technical mechanical decisions based on building code interpretation and company standard practice
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program
- The ability to work with, interpret and apply national and local building codes especially GCC Codes
- Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing
- Strong written communication, presentation, and client interface skills
- Ability to take responsibility for given tasks with limited supervision while proactively developing standard practices and new techniques
- Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software
- Strong knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, Revit and AutoCAD)
- Knowledge and interest in the architectural/engineering field designing HVAC and plumbing systems
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
