Job Description
- Manage, enhance and monitor farms operations in multiple locations
- Plan finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters.
- Oversee and guide on driving tractors, operating machinery, feeding livestock, spraying fields, etc.
- Plan activities for trainee and staff, mentoring and monitoring them.
- Maintain and monitor the quality of yield, whether livestock or crop.
- Understanding the implications of the weather and making contingency plans.
- Make sure products are ready for deadlines, such as auctions and markets.
- Ensure current government regulations concerning farms activities.
- Ensure that farms activities comply with government regulations.
- Maintain a knowledge of pests and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them.
- Applying health and safety standards across the farms estates.
- Marketing the farms’ products.
- Buying supplies, such as fertilizer and seeds.
- Arranging the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery and equipment.
- Protecting the environment and maintaining biodiversity.
- Keeping financial records up to date.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Agriculture
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in a similar position
- Expertise in palm dates or citrus is essential.
