Job Description
- The Buyer planner role participates in all functions related to planning & procurement for direct/indirect materials and project-related services/capital items beginning with analyzing of requirements, ordering, negotiating lead times , managing materials scheduling, purchase order maintenance and close-out in ERP system , vendor relationships (internal and external), and warranties.
- Participate and collaborate closely within the Virtual Site Operations Team (VSOT).
- Responsible for the purchase of all raw materials, bulk & packaging materials in accordance with applicable procedures & inventory targets. Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to plan and execute purchase orders and others if required.
- Contact all suppliers and follow up all direct materials purchase orders, effectively ensure all orders meets due dates and quantities as required.
- Provide Suppliers’ Evaluation Program Owner with the required input in terms of material delivery and supplier correspondence.
- Analyze and understand the requirements to meet and comply with inventory of stock required and shelf life dates to achieve supply chain planning requirements.
- Ensure that all incoming materials are released in a timely manner that won’t impact production scheduling.
- Coordinate with QC to make sure that materials available in stock are conforming for future use).
- Prepare, report, and communicate inventory measurement and manage metrics to track overall success and effectiveness on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Communicate with management, finance, warehouse and manufacturing operations functions within the organization to ensure all department requirements are met in a timely manner according to the master schedule.
- Participate in continual process improvement focusing on supply chain.
- Maintain documentation and standard operating procedure (SOP).
- Flexibility on daily working hours, given the position’s workload variability. Interaction with stakeholders in other time zones might be required (Asia, US, EU).
- Travel may be required from time to time (10%).
- Position must be based in Egypt.
- There is no relocation associated with this role.
Job Requirements
Education
- Technical Diploma or Materials Management/ SCM or Logistics Degree required.
- Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application.
- Experience in Materials Management, production planning and inventory management optimization algorithms.
- Digital literacy.
- Knowledge on APO strong advantage. EnterpriseOne knowledge is a plus as well.
- Strong skills in MS Office® Suite, especially Excel, is required. Usage of MS Access is an asset.
- APICS training/ certification preferred.
- Fluent in English (both spoken and written), other languages are an added value.
Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years working experience in Supply Chain related fields (planning, scheduling, procurement, logistics, customer service or demand management) with at least 2 years experience in planning or procurement role, preferably the pharmaceutical/ chemical industry.
- Understanding of GMPs and compliance in the pharma industry.
- Above site / regional or global experience.
- Experience working in a complex matrix organization.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience interacting and building effective relationships at different levels within and external to the organization and across geographies is imperative including working with cultural differences and country specific requirements.
