Job Description
ACF is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for ACF in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.
This position is part of a project with GIZ - The German Cooperation in Egypt.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
- The Water, Sanitation and hygiene officer is a member of the Nutrition department of Action Against Hunger office, based in Cairo.
- The Water, Sanitation and hygiene officer will carry out his/her duties in close collaboration with the Project Manager, the other departments and ACF partners for the overall implementation of a health, nutrition and water project; under the overall supervision of the Country Director.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Water and sanitation knowledge.

- External coordination and representation.
- To follow up the financial and logistics management of the project.
- Communication and Reporting.
- Support other activities of ACF.
Job Requirements
- Degree in civil engineering or related fields pertaining to water and sanitation.
- Project Cycle Management
- Identification of water points and water infrastructures
- Work experience in NGOs.
- Self-Management ability and organizational skills.
- Training and maintenance regarding water facilities
- Team spirit and good communication skills
- Ability to work and coordinate with local authorities and communities.
- Monitoring and evaluation skills.
- Native Arabic speaking and fluency in the English (spoken and written)
- Excel, Word, email and internet;
- Able to understand the context and travel to project sites
