Intrusion Prevention Systems Administrator

We are actively seeking an experienced resource who:

• Will monitor, manage, configure and support the network intrusion detection and intrusion prevention appliance
• Will actively or passively monitor network traffic and block known malicious activity in accordance with the security policy configuration
• Will perform security policy configuration changes needed to resolve network connectivity issues and critical attacks

Responsibilities:

• Resource will implement, monitor, manage, configure and support the network intrusion detection and intrusion prevention appliance
• Resource will actively or passively monitor network traffic and block known malicious activity in accordance with the security policy configuration
• Resource will provide in-depth reporting on the security of BPI's networks
• Resource will perform security policy configuration changes needed to resolve network connectivity issues and critical attacks
• Maps network landscape, identify security problems (including misconfiguration) and provide solutions
• Leads cost-effective short- and long-term efforts to dramatically improve visibility of network threats, vulnerabilities, and risk
• Engages with other internal and external forces to get and share information to improve processes and security posture
• Contributes to securing and monitoring traffic at egress/ingress points across the network
• Develops requirements and implements proof of concept testing to ensure technologies meet business needs and security requirements
• Support firewalls and IPS/IDS technologies within a large enterprise network environment.
• Understand and fulfill customer’s network security needs, following strictly security standards and best practices
• Supports other team members’ efforts requiring deep understanding of IDS/IPS, routing, firewalls, network architecture, etc.
