Job Description

Role Summary:
The Modernization Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing elevator modernization projects from initiation to completion. S/He will work closely with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure the successful upgrade and modernization of existing elevator systems. The role will involve technical expertise, project management, and a focus on delivering safe, efficient, and innovative elevator solutions that comply with industry standards and regulations.
Position Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Business Industry: Elevators, Escalators and Moving Walkways.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



• Ensure compliance with company safety policies/procedures in modernization activities and train the team on safety policies to increase awareness.
• Manage the projects from take over to closure, including resources (both material & labor).
• Control all material /inventory and ensure all materials /sub contractor cost are within the budget.
• Handle post-sale negotiations, price adjustments, claims, etc.
• Liaise with factories to place orders and manage claims.
• Create the project plan, manpower plan, quality plan and logistics plan, including tools and other resources.
• Responsible for site installation methodology, leading project execution and completing a quality installation.
• Negotiate sub-contractor scope and rates, instigate purchase orders and certify bills.
• Handle the project’s financials, invoice submittals and payment collection.
• Prepare, organize, and retain contract related documents as per company quality requirements.
• Lead the multifunctional project team and manage performance.
• Regularly use company mobile devices/systems for timely and accurate reporting.

Education and Experience:



• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical).
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Elevator Industry.
• Professional certificate in project management i.e., PMP is a major plus.

• Excellent communication, negotiation and persuading skills.
• Good Problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Great Leadership, decision-making and people management skills.
• Exceptional Project Management skills.
• Excellent Computer literacy (MS office)
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
• Knowledge of project management computer packages i.e., MS Project and Primavera is a plus.
