Job Description

Primary Responsibility:

  • To provide effective and efficient IT desktop assistance across all aspects of Employer ICT systems.
  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining Desktop operating systems in Employer remote sites and offices, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT-related Hardware/Software.
  • The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities and requires a team player with organized, timely, efficient, accountable and proactive responses.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Successfully perform the following ICT duties for Employer remote sites and offices:

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues as they occur on the following:
  • Install, configure, support and maintain MS Server/MS Professional OS and other MS OS versions, Client Corporate VOIP systems, Corporate Security and Anti-Virus Systems, Corporate
  • Desktop Application Manager Packages and Desktop Firewalls, Corporate Office Packages and all other aspects of Client Corporate software systems.
  • Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops hardware, Passive/Active Network
  • Components, IT cabinets, printing and Imaging devices,NAS units and Security Appliances if and when applicable.
  • Install Corporate IT authorized software to company laptops, desktops, and Corporate Smart Phones when applicable.
  • Ensuring planned security and upgrades are periodically applied and maintained by himself on company desktops, laptops, NAS units, Wireless Access Points and internet lines in above mentioned Region of Operations.
  • Reporting faults, firmly maintaining logs and site documentations on company desktops, laptops, NAS units, and Wireless Access Points and all other IT/Comms infrastructure components and/or changes in the above mentioned Region of Operations as well as sending daily action reports.
  • Requesting IT hardware spare parts, services and aggressively following up with vendors , 3rd party suppliers and 3rd party Service Providers.
  • Carry on and meet Employer IT Department training and certification when and if the need arise as discussed and instructed by Employer IT Manager or his designated person(s).
  • Ensure that all Employer IT policies and procedures are met and followed, honoring the confidentiality, importance and sensitivity of the position held and responsibilities and quality of service delivered that comes with it.
  • Send daily action reports.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Prepare documents, meeting materials and correspondence.
  • Perform basic administrative support duties as required to meet specific operational objectives.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by Employer IT Manager or designated person(s).
  • Travel and work extra hours to meet deadlines, as required and where and when the need arise.
  • Provide assistance as required to the IT Manager and/or his designated person(s).
  • Provide assistance and support to colleagues in IT-related matters through only professional and formal help desk escalation and reporting procedures.
  • Ensure that a high quality and sound level of customer service and support is delivered to all internal users (and external clients if applicable and only if directly requested by Employer IT Manager).

Job Requirements

Technical Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Fluent English language, written and spoken.
  • O365 Administration and Troubleshooting is a must.
  • Very good understanding and awareness of Cyber security standards is a must.
  • Very good Win OS and Server installing , configuring and troubleshooting skills.
  • ITIL Foundation V.3 certification is a must.
  • MCITP and CCNA certification is a must.
  • CpompTIA A+ and Network + certification is a plus.
  • Helpdesk and asset management exposure.
  • Good knowledge and hands on experience on procurement process, documentation and reporting.

The candidate must be:

  • Self-motivated, team player, consistent and organized, problem analyzer and solver, has excellent communication skills, able to work efficiently under stress in remote areas with harsh environmental working conditions, can adapt very quickly to different cultures and willing to travel to remote sites (75% of working time).

Training & Education Required:

  • Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or any other relevant college degree is a must.
  • To have obtained the above mentioned skills either on the job training or via courses.

Experience Required:

  • IT experience with minimum of 7 years in similar position preferably with multinational companies.

Equipment Knowledge:

  • V.Good understanding and hands on experience on implementation of Microsoft Operations Framework, Microsoft Solutions Framework, and the ITIL standards and procedures.
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting Firewall Appliance, UTM’s namely Cyberoam UTM and Sophos is a must.
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting LAN,WAN in most common topologies with different media types, V-Sat on C-band/KU, Network Security Solutions with IDS and IPS, and contents filtration, using MS-tools and integrated 3rd Party Hardware and Software preferably Cisco PIX/ASA and Cyberoam.
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting all MS-OS versions including servers platforms, Servers Hardware, IT Power Redundancy systems and Backup.
  • Storage Solutions and common IT peripheral devices with different brands/Models.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit and able to perform the inherent requirements of the job in remote desert sites.
  • Responsible for ensuring necessary vaccinations are kept updated.
  • Must comply and adhere to safe work procedures and work safety regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, and work on a roster.
