Job Description

Core Functions-Tasks / Key Results Expected

  • Manage and oversee the entire accounting team.
  • Conduct all necessary training to keep the team’s skills and knowledge up to date.
  • See that tax interviews are conducted properly with clients.
  • Ensure that all necessary documents are requested, collected, and compiled.
  • Review corporate and personnel income tax returns to ensure accuracy.
  • See that tax consults and onboarding procedures are in place for new clients.
  • Maintain highly organized and updated client files.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
  • Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
  • Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
  • Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
  • Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures.
  • Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the set up.
  • Support the Finance & Admin. Manger in ensuring that intercompany cost allocations are in line with management agreements and transfer pricing policy.
  • Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting and working closely with the operations and project teams in analyzing margins, variances and cost analysis.

Job Knowledge/Technical Expertise 


Fundamental knowledge of Colas Rail-Egypt core business

  • Understands the fundamental concepts and technical specialty related to COLAS RAIL core business
  • Possesses basic knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and corporate governance 
  • Demonstrates good knowledge of information technology (namely Microsoft Excel, Power point and Word) with consistent practical application throughout performance of his/her duties

Qualifications/Experience required


Education:Bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance. CFA, CPA or CMA is a plus.

Great experience in accounting. Good experience in management & preferably in the Rail sector.

Worked in construction sector for not less than 7 years.

Advanced knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.

Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables.

Experience with general ledger functions.

Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.

Advanced financial analysis skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines, has a confident and outgoing personality, works comfortably with senior business management.

Ability to train and manage staff.

Language Requirements: Arabic & English is a must, French is a plus.
