Job Description
The school Social Worker provides direct and indirect social work services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home, and community providers.
- Communicating with students to determine the areas in which they may need assistance or counseling.
- Counseling students with personal and psychological issues that affect their performance, behavior, and socialization in school.
- Identify problems in the school setting, such as bullying or aggressive behavior.
- Review students’ medical and mental health history
- Research new ways to improve children’s wellbeing.
- Provide guidance to teachers of high-risk children.
- Support parents in facilitating students’ progress.
- Providing counseling sessions, treatment plans, or workshops as necessary and establishing prevention programs and intervention plans.
- Assisting teachers and administrators with behavioral and attitude issues by communicating with students to find the causes of their distress.
- Providing information, when appropriate, to outside support services to help students with economic, emotional, or physical issues.
- Communicating with parents, teachers, and administrators to understand students' challenges.
- Maintaining case files and reports to track students' progress and problems.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social studies or equivalent.
- Fluent English & Arabic Speaking, German is an asset.
- Proficiency with Office Programs and Microsoft Teams.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in schools are preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
