Job Description

OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST:

The Project Officer Disability Inclusion for Employers is responsible for implementing project activities under the supervision of the Project technical officer and Project manager and to support employers, both formal and informal, to become disability inclusive and expand their capacity to employ youths with disabilities residing in Imbaba and Elwarraq areas.

The incumbent of the post in particular will:

  • Be direct responsible to work with the identified at least 20 employers (formal and informal) from Greater Cairo in general and from Imbaba and El Warraq areas in particular
  • Support the team in the personalized coaching of the 150 youth with disabilities when they are employed by the supported employers.
  • Directly responsible, in conjunction with the project partner, to expand the project’s network of formal and informal employers in the local community.
  • Work closely with local partners and stakeholders to reach out youth with disability within the catchment area.

Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the international development cooperation.
  • Demonstrated experience in working as social worker, especially with People with Disabilities

Skills/Competencies

  • Good knowledge of HI's work in the field and familiarity with Disability field.
  • Familiarity with the work and general functioning of CSOs/DPOs in Egypt.

Education

  • University degree in social and human sciences, or disability-related discipline.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in the area of Disability, Livelihood, Accessibility, Inclusion, vulnerable youths.
  • Proven experience in dealing with employers.
  • Proven experience as social worker.

Skills/Competencies

  • Understanding of Business approach.
  • Good analytical, organizational and operational skills
  • Good understanding of community dynamics in Egypt (Cairo in particular)
  • Good coordination and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to set plans and coaching
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and to maintain effective working relations within a multi-cultural environment.
  • Solid IT skills including knowledge of office software.

Languages

  • Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of Arabic and a very good knowledge (written and spoken) of English.
