Job Description
Main Duties:
- Provide training for teachers and supervisors about the identification of students with learning disabilities; recommended teaching best-practices; effective classroom management; and assessment of SPED students
- Utilize appropriate assessment to determine prospective students' learning disabilities
- Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with learning disabilities in collaboration with teachers, supervisors, and administrators.
- Implement IEP's: Implement the different elements of the IEP such as but not limited to 1) Teaching SPED students in groups and individually 2) Ensuring that classroom teachers adopt appropriate teaching practices, classroom management, and assessment.
- Handle SPED students disciplinary and emergency issues
- Assess students’ performance, track their progress, and update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
- Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, and administrators
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology or Special Education
- At least 1 year of special education / school psychologist experience
