Job Description

Position Description

  • The job holder is responsible for Compensation & Benefits area that includes salary surveys, monthly payroll, merit Increase and Incentive schemes, also to provide business solutions and support to line managers and staff on HR related matters which includes, HR policies, Performance Evaluation, Disciplinary & Corrective Action and other HR practices
  • The job holder provides support and makes recommendations to HR Manager on implementation and improvement of HR Processes and adhoc HR projects to accomplish current and future business requirements

Compensation & Benefits

  • In co-ordination with the HR Manager, conduct/participate in salary surveys i.e. Hay, Watson Wyatt, Mercer, benchmarking to ensure that salaries remain competitive in the market.
  • Ensure that Local Incentive program (LIP) is implemented, coordinated and communicated effectively and in line with Area Office requirements.
  • Manage a close relationship with Alico and ensure that all Alico enrolments/transfers/claims/workmen’s compensation queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
  • Manage the benefits schemes effectively to ensure that it is in line with the company policy.
  • Provide suggestions to improve/enhance the current benefits structure.

Budget

  • Responsible for development and administration of HR budget.
  • Provide reports, benchmarking, trend analysis, to HR Manager on Personnel cost, Headcount, FTE, Overtime, Commissions and Incentives.

Employee Engagement Survey

  • Manage the Employee Engagement Survey to measure employee satisfaction and provide feedback to SMT on Work Conditions, Line Managers & Colleagues, Opportunities, Compensation, Procedures and Quality. Manage any other ad-hoc surveys that are implemented.

Employee Recognition and Suggestion Schemes

  • Ensure that Employee Recognition and Suggestion Schemes are implemented and communicated regularly not only to promote high performers but also to increase motivation and morale of his employees.
  • Advise new rewards and recognition scheme and make amendments to the existing schemes where required.

Performance Management

  • Ensure that Motiv8 is actively used by all managers and supervisors within the areas of control for the purpose of evaluating KPIs, competencies, development needs and career aspirations so that it is seen as fair and objective process by the employee and can be used as an effective document for measuring performance and identifying training and development needs.

HR Policy and Procedures

  • Implement new HR policy and procedures in line with ISO standards.
  • Communicate to all staff and ensure compliance by all managers and staff.

Disciplinary Hearings & Grievances

  • Ensure all disciplinary hearings are conducted as per Egypt Labour Law and DHL Policy & Procedures in a fair and consistent way.
  • Advise line managers on disciplinary process and corrective action.
  • Ensure all grievance cases are approached and handled with total confidentiality.

Leavers Process & Exit Interview

  • Ensure that all leavers complete “leaver’s formalities” as per Egypt Labour Law and Company Policy & Procedures.
  • Manage the process of exit Interviews and Analyse exit interviews and staff turnover rates to provide statistics/ trend analysis and identify common reasons / trends in relation to why employees leave DHL and make recommendations to the HR Manager for corrective action.

HR Team

  • Develop and implement plans & projects, provide clear direction and performance standards to HR Team.
  • Train, coach, motivate and supervise the team to achieve set targets and DHL objectives.
  • Perform the PEAP process regularly to manage individual performance and career aspirations for HR Team

HR Projects

  • Manage / participate HR Projects as requested by HR Manager/Area Office.

Context

  • HR Operations Manager is part of Egypt HR Team and reports to HR Manager, responsible for providing business solutions; support and comprehensive HR service to managers and staff on HR related practices.
  • The job holder is also responsible to search for effective and efficient HR practices and make recommendation to HR Manager on attraction & retention of talent, rewards and recognition, staff motivation and morale in line with market conditions, business objectives and Area requirements.
  • The HR Operations Manager trains, coaches, motivate and supervise HR Team to achieve set targets and DHL objectives.

Problem Solving

  • The job holder will be required to investigate any issues on request from the line managers and give sound recommendations.
  • The job holder will also need to manage and resolve any internal issues concerning direct reports.

Decision Making

  • The job holder required to have analytical skills in order to understand and provide directions and solutions to HR related issues i.e. identify HR related issues, understand and assess the problems by looking at them alternative ways, anticipate consequences and develop options / solutions to resolve them.
  • Jobholder will also be required to analyse and interpret statistical & other data and apply information to a specific issue / practice and give recommendations Issues.

Planning and Organisation

  • The job holder needs to self manage time and that of their team to ensure that all objectives are met as per deadlines and service levels are met.
  • Needs to continually prioritize work load and resources.

Position Challenge

  • The job holder will need to juggle many and conflicting priorities to be able to meet the demands of the various departments.
  • Identify and Implement best practices.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Educated to degree level with a postgraduate qualification in HR
  • Wide ranging generalist HR experience in a medium / large sized organisation with specific experience in recruitment, remuneration, psychometric assessments, employee relations, local legislation.
