Job Description
Role Purpose :
The Research and Innovation Engineer have two main roles:
- Identify Opportunities in Emerging Technology Spaces
The R&I Engineer uses research and analysis to find changes/opportunities in the market. R&I Engineer suggests improvements to the current business by aligning with the latest technologies and market trends. A major part in this role is watching the activity of competitors and new technology trends as well as challenges and opportunities with existing customers. One of the main activities is to extend the scope of employees through raising their awareness with the latest technologies and trends in the market.
- Launch and Lead Innovation Projects
The R&I Engineer is responsible for collecting and assessing ideas. The filtered ideas will be promoted to innovation projects either internally or externally as collaborative innovation project with international entities. The R&I Engineer is responsible for overseeing the promoted projects and forming project teams either internally from various departments or externally through seeking partners. One of the main activities of this role is to take part of the management and development of the project and ensuring the proper running and closure of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect new technology trends
- Create new technologies knowledge assets
- Designs and oversee staff education on the use of new technologies and design justified technology investments using technology road-maps
- Design innovation challenges based on the findings of new technology research
- Actively participate in the international membership/partnership related activities and communicate with relevant stakeholders internally and with our partners
- Actively participate in collaborative innovation projects with international entities starting from idea proposal till the end of the project going through the whole proposal and project development life-cycle
- Launch and lead internal innovation projects for new ideas
- Play a pivotal role in the development of innovation projects through the whole project life-cycle
Job Requirements
- Demonstrated analytical skills, with ability to build business cases
- Strong presentation skills with ability to effectively facilitate discussion
- A passion for innovation, design, and technology
- Strong project management skills
- Strong and demonstrated experience with IoT related technologies and business models is a plus
- Very Good knowledge of PLC and very good knowledge of PLC language
- Very good knowledge at industrial networks
- Knowledge of communication drivers between PLC and HMI (Direct driver or OPC)
- Knowledge of HMI software
- Knowledge of HMI General design concepts
- Good communication, presentation, and training skills
- Organized & Hard worker
- Time management Skills
- Ability to work individually or in a team
- Proactive and self-motivated
